League Rules

The purpose of this league is to put our home game's best player to work for all of us... We will send our season's champion to a WSOP event, and we will all get a share of the profit if he cashes!

The WSOP event will be in late June, 2009. The exact date will be posted when the 2009 WSOP schedule is available.

All players pay an equal portion of $1600. There will be no rake collected. ALL of this money will be awarded to the season champion for a $1500 WSOP buy in.

Each player will be required to pay $267 up front or $25 at each tournament. If you miss a tourney, you will be required to pay for it at the next tourney you attend.

Players participate in 11 tournaments.

Tournaments will be scheduled at 7PM on the second Saturday of each month, starting on August 9, 2008, and ending on June 13, 2009.

Tournaments will be held at various locations – we can take turns hosting.

Players’ best 8 results will be used to determine the league champ. This will allow players to miss up to 3 events and not be severely penalized.

The champ will receive $1600. You can’t keep the money, you MUST play in the WSOP!

The losers will all fly to Vegas with the winner, party, play poker, and hopefully be in the cheering section at the final table.

The champ MUST wear a Home Poker Tour hat or toque when playing in the WSOP!!!!!! THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE!!!!!!!!

All players will share in the WSOP prize pool if the champ cashes in the WSOP event. The league champ will receive 50%, and the remaining 50% will be distributed between the losers based on point standings. Example:

Rank, Name, Points:
1, Champ, 100
2, Player1, 70
3, Player2, 50
4, Player3, 30

Champ cashes in WSOP for 100K. Champ receives 50K

Total loser points: 70+50+30=150

Player1 receives 70/150x50K = $23333
Player2 receives 50/150x50K = $16667
Player3 receives 30/150x50K = $10000

If the league champ cannot make it to Vegas for the WSOP, the league member in second place will take his place. The 2nd place player will now receive 50% of the WSOP prize money, and the champ will receive prize money proportionate to his points.
