2nd Half Standings with 1 event left to play
The 2nd half standings are still anyone's game. Remember the winner of the 2nd half will get to play Steve Greenberg for the 1st half vs. 2nd half winner prize pool. Don't let him walk away with the money without a fight!
The last tournament is the Tier 2 No Limit Hold Em tournament. With lots of points at stake, anyone can win. Keely's back to back wins in the last 2 tournaments have vaulted her into 3rd place, just 1 point behind leader Steve G. Steve Stelman's strong 2nd half showing has him in 3rd place despite missing a couple of tournaments. Tim and Amanda are much further behind and will need a win here, combined with poor performances by the leaders to catch them.
Even if you're out of the running for the 2nd half championship, remember that every point goes towards your chips stack in the end of the year freeroll.
The current 2nd half standings (after last week's HORSE tournament)
Steve G - 53
Keely - 52
Steve S - 47
Tim - 34
Amanda - 31
Paul - 27
Scott - 21
Richard - 20
Michelle - 10
Ahmet - 8
Joy - 6
Jim - 5
Gerry - 2

Tournament #11 - Tier 2.5 No Limit Hold Em Results
Previous Tournament: Episode Juliet - Weekend at Stevie's.
Last weekend, 7 players showed up at Villa Vicenza to try to take down the title for the biggest buy-in of the year, the Tier 2.5 No Limit Hold Em tournament. The extended levels and deeper stacks gave players plenty of room to splash their chips.
The action started out cautiously. Gerry was on the losing end of some early action in level 2, losing with A6 to Keely's trip Queens, then laying down a big hand to Paul after Paul's all-in bet on the flop.
Later on, Keely and Steve G got involved in a couple of pots where Keely claimed to have pocket Tens, making big raises forcing Steve to fold.
The first big hand came in level 4, when Tim moved in on the turn with a set of 9s. Gerry called with the nut flush draw and hit it on the river to stay alive.
Scott then nailed Paul for most of his chips with AA when he raised, then moved in vs. Paul's reraise. Paul's 99 was unable to catch up to Scott and he was left crippled.
Gerry and Tim again went at it when Tim called Gerry's all-in with AQo. Gerry turned over ATs but crippled Tim by turning a full house. Gerry finished off Tim and then worked on Paul by busting him with 99 (flopping quads) vs. Paul's AK.
Later on in the tournament, Keely again took Steve G's chips by calling his all-in with TT, beating Steve's pocket eights sending HSTPSG out in 5th place.
In level 10, Steve S limped in with QJo, and Gerry pushed all-in with A4o. Steve thought for a while before folding. Gerry showed his hand and they rabbit hunted to find that had Steve made the call, he would have outdrawn Gerry. A little later, Keely pushed all-in with A9. Scott and Gerry both called her and Scott wound up making a full house to send Keely off in 4th place.
Gerry then finished off the job he started by eliminating Scott Smith in 3rd place with A5 vs. Scott's 68. He then busted Steve Stelman with A9 vs. Steve's A6, earning the bounty and securing a spot in the tournament of Champions. Gerry had multiple wins in SDSOP 3, but this is his first win in SDSOP 4. Congratulations to Gerry!

Vote on 4th of July tournament!
I've put a poll back up on the YahooGroups website as to when the 4th of July weekend Tier 2.5 tournament will be. If you don't have access to the YahooGroups page, let me know and I'll send you an invite. The 4th is on Tuesday this year, and we may have another BBQ beforehand. The tournament will be a little longer, so I'd like to start it a bit earlier than usual.
