First of Many Tuesday Night Games! Results!
I've decided (for now) that Tuesday nights will be the best night for poker games during the school year. So lets get one going the first week, on 8/21. This will be the first game of the "Fall 2007" season, so we'll take a few bucks out each week, keep track of points, and have a freeroll at the end of the season for the top-5. All the points information is under "League Info".

Can't wait to see everyone back at school next week!

-Russell

One More Before School Starts Results!
This is the last poker game this "season", so after this one, the 5 points leaders will play in the extra $50 freeroll.

Come play poker on Wednesday night!

Point Leader Freeroll
I think that the end-of-season freeroll is going to be in early August, and it will be with the top 5 or 6 in the points standings (starting chip stacks will also be by point standings).

This summer season is really a trial run for doing this in the fall, where more people will be able to regularly play.

Charity Poker Event
** Below is information about an outside charity event, courtesy of Cass Anderson. I'm passing along the details in case anyone is interested. ~Russell

-----

To all my poker playing friends (and those who think they're card sharks)!!!!

It's time to ante up for a great cause! I've talked with some of you about this, but I wanted to let you know about a fun way to support one of my favorite causes - the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix (BGCMP) - while testing your Texas Hold' EM skills.

The BGCMP Branch Development Board is hosting a Texas Hold 'EM Tournament beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 8 at Graham Central Station, 7850 S. Priest Drive, in Tempe. For a donation of only $100, you can enjoy a great bar-b-que lunch and receive a seat in the tournament.

The grand prize? $1,500. But the real winners will be the kids you'll be helping.

Prizes will be awarded to everyone who makes the final table.

So, you might be wondering, "This all sounds great, but I stink at poker. What would I do if I get eliminated early?"

I'm so glad you asked! A cash bar will be open all day long - stick around, enjoy a cold one and watch your friends bluff their way through the field! I'll probably be out pretty early myself, so at least I'll have a drinking buddy!

If this sounds good (and I know it does!!!), please RSVP to Robyn Pierson at 602-954-8182 or rpierson@bgcmp.org. Please tell Robyn that I sent you (I get credit - not in the tournament - but for my board work). I've attached a flyer with all the details.

Again, all proceeds go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. If you want to learn more about this amazing organization, visit: http://www.bgcmp.org.

Last but not least - THE MORE, THE MERRIER. Please let anyone you know who might be interested in on this - it's a great way to have a fun afternoon, maybe win some cash and help the kids!
