January 1st, 2009 - New Year's Day Pokerpalooza Re
Jim Chapman was the winner of the $26 bad beat jackpot, congratulations! This season is off to a great start.

RSVP Offline:
Mark McCombs
Jim Chapman
Steve Thompson
Bob Ernst
Ken Ballard

SEASON FOUR kicks off with our annual New Year's Day gathering. All points are reset and everyone starts on equal footing to make another ten game run for the coveted title of Season Champion. Season Four will be mostly unchanged from Season Three except for one small variation - the wildcard game will now only happen ONCE this season instead of twice, so the other nine games will all be No-Limit Texas Hold'em. Eight of them will be our standard elimination structure and one of them will be something different (heads up, short handed, shootout, turbo, etc.) The rebuy rule remains unchanged, 1 rebuy allowed when you are at 50% or less of your starting stack but only during the first three blind levels.

For this first game of Season Four I am extending the blind periods to a 30 minute duration, but chip stacks will be the standard T1000.

The extra $5 for this buy-in will be $3 for food and $2 for a side jackpot (either bad beat or high hand), with the rest of the $11 going to the main pot and rake. 100% of the food money will be spent on food but if there is surplus it will go back into the main pot for the winners.

RSVP is very important for this one (of course I should say it is important for all of them ...), so that Jamie has an idea what her food budget should be. There will be some yummy food so come hungry!

It looks like we'll pick up the Gator Bowl or Citrus Bowl at the start of the tournament and switch to the Rose Bowl around 3:30. If for some reason we're still going at 7:30, that's when the Orange Bowl starts.

I hope you can make it and please RSVP so we can get a food headcount.

Thanksgiving Weekend Ring Game Completed!
Sean Geoghegan will be hosting a NL Hold'em cash game this Saturday at his house. Unlike a tournament, at a ring game you can leave whenever you want and take your winnings (or losses) with you. You can also keep playing for as long as your bankroll is able to sustain multiple buy-ins. The game will probably be limit for the first hour before becoming No-Limit for the rest of the evening. I'm not sure what the blinds are.
