New Web Site
Game 6 (which is the 5th game of the season) is in the books, with another Greg Hall victory.

The standings have been updated here at www.homepokertour.com and on our unofficial league page at www.kywilderness.com/keith/poker

I also wanted to let you know that I'm planning to move all poker related stuff to http://stlpoker.ning.com ... this will you a place to see the current standings and see a calendar of upcoming events, not just tournaments, but whatever else is going on. It's a private group because I wanted to limit it to those of us that know each other. That means you'll have to request membership when you first login. No big deal and it's free. Also, feel free to invite friends of friends if they're interested in seeing what's going on and possibly playing from time to time.

The current website (HPT) is not working out for me... $8/month to do the same things it used to do for free is absurd (Really? $8/month to send email to everyone in the group) Umm... no thanks. After the end of this season, I'll move everything to stlpoker.ning.com so, go ahead and stop by and join in on some discussion there.

Game 4
Game 4 will be re-scheduled (It ended up as a heads up match because the snowstorm kept everyone else away).

John Heidbrink has offered to host the re-scheduled game. When we meet at Phil's for game 5, we'll discuss the date.

About the Formula...
In the process of revising the formula to account for the rebuy situation in Game 3, I discovered that there was an error in the way it was calculating.

The formula as shown in the league rules is correct. However, there was a missing parenthesis in the software causing it to calculate incorrectly. It was basically making the point structure too top heavy.

The points for all tournaments have been revised to reflect the formula presented in the league rules.

It Doesn't End There
I don't think I've said this before... but "Chinkle was right". He questioned the payouts during the game and I should have taken notice and looked. Seems like the payout structure hadn't automatically updated as it should have.

Two problems: (1) The payouts were $5 heavy... the system said to payout $5 more than we took in. (2) We should have paid only 2 spots instead of 3. First should have been $150 and 2nd still $65. Oh well, that's over and done with, but next time I'll pay more attention to the software's suggestion
